Incense, resin

Incense in the ancient Chinese society was a tool for measuring time. Different sizes and lengths of incense have varying time within themselves. After burning the incense, I put the ashes into individual resin cubes. By doing so, I ask the questions: “Was time frozen in each cubes? Did I preserve a certain passage of time in the past? Once the form alters (from incense to ashes), does it still carry the same meaning?”
